I began my journey as a student of yoga around 12 years ago and immediately felt at home. Growing up, I learned a form of Indian classical dancing called Bharatanatyam, so movement has always been an especially important outlet in self expression and way to more deeply connect with my heritage. Yoga became a very natural next step down that path.
I completed my first 200 hour training as a 3-week intensive in Ko Samui, Thailand. This time was a truly spiritual experience that completely transformed me and my understanding of yoga as a lifestyle practice. I resonated deeply with the teachings and was excited to learn more. My next training took place during the pandemic as a virtual study with a focus on the Anatomy of Movement. During a time of such separateness, having a group of people to grow and connect with was so special. After this, I felt compelled to share yoga with as many people as I could.
I teach vinyāsa, pranayama and hope to soon complete a training in yin yoga. I love teaching all levels, from being someone’s first yoga class to challenging more advanced practitioners to meet themselves more deeply. In my free time, I am usually with my two cats, cooking for friends or plotting on my next beach vacation.
